Eggleston Motorsport enjoyed a strong showing in both 25 minute outings Hackett with an impressive second in Q1, while Storey was fourth in Q2. The combined qualifying times deciding the reverse starting order for the Top 10 Shootout on Saturday afternoon.

Q1 – Hackett- P2  - Lap Time 1:31.553

Overcast conditions in the first session weren’t conducive for quick times, but Hackett made the most of it in the #63 Mercedes-AMG GT3 leading the field for most of the session.

Tekno Autosports McLaren driver Grant Denyer set the initial pace before he was eclipsed by Hackett and then Roger Lago in the Lago Racing Lamborghini.

Lago’s stay at the top was short-lived as Padayachee hooked up a 1:31.6s to surge back to the top.

The session developed into a battle between Padayachee and Hackett as the pair swapped times at the top of the stats.

Hackett responded shaving a tenth off the benchmark before Padayachee leapt into the 1:30.8s bracket.

Hackett was in good spirits after the P2 finish "It’s nice when things just click, everything came together in this session and the car was really competitive. I know Dom will give it everything this afternoon and hopefully we’ll be starting near the front tomorrow.”

Q2 – Storey- P4 - Lap Time 1.30.359

As the track heated up under the surprisingly stinging Hampton Downs sun the times quickly fell. The second session proved to be a frantic affair with a number of cars spinning out.

Like the first qualifying session, no one could set a time quicker late in the running. Mies held on for the top spot, ahead of Miedecke, Russell, Storey, Nathan Antunes, Steven Richards, Tony D’Alberto, Greg Murphy, Michael Caruso, and Garth Tander.

Hackett and Storey’s combined time of a 1:30.956 just two tenths off the leading time set by Padayachee and Martin.

Top 10 Shootout- Storey- Lap Time 1.31.613

Storey started second-to-last out for the Top 10 shootout and gave the car a solid run. Greg Murphy produced a clean performance in the Tony Quinn-owned Aston Martin Vantage to claim fifth ahead of fellow Kiwi Storey.

The team will start 6th on the grid for tomorrow’s Hampton Downs 101.
